Appointment System

Please make all appointments online via the link at the top of this page.  For urgent appointments only please speak to one of our receptionists 01223 350647.

At Staff Health, please call 01223 216689 to make an appointment.

Please do not request appointments or consultations by email.

All consultations are by appointment. A routine appointment is for 10 minutes; please ask for a double appointment if you think your problems will take longer. We do not have advanced access or open surgery and if you need to be seen urgently, please tell the receptionist who will, if necessary, speak to the duty doctor and get you seen as soon as possible.

Telephone Advice

If you wish to speak to a doctor by telephone, this can be arranged with the receptionist. If possible, let the receptionist know the reason for your call. If it is urgent, let the receptionist know.

Emergencies

If you think you are seriously ill, telephone 01223 350647 and please tell the receptionist who will take some details from you and contact the duty doctor immediately.

If you need help when we are closed

A&E

Whatever the day or time, if you or someone else experiences severe chest pain, severe loss of blood or suspected broken bones, go to your nearest accident and emergency department or call 999. Accident and emergency departments are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and can assess serious injuries and provide emergency treatment.

Please use A&E responsibly, and consider whether your GP or NHS 111 may be able to provide you with suitable care

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • If there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
  • If you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
  • If you need an interpreter
  • If you have any other access or communication needs

Home Visits

Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception before 10:00.

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls

You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.

Text Reminder Service

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.

To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.

Please remember to update your contact details with us when you change address, telephone numbers and email address.
